QUESTION: How and why is art used as a vehicle for communication? I believe art is a communication because it is a way to express your feelings. If you are having a not so great day, you may end up creating art to make you feel better. Most likely when you look back at your art it will reflect your mood. Art also can demonstrate stories, and every story has great emotion.
The Process: In this project we learned how to create an acrylic transfer, and to be able to add the transfer to our project while making the viewer wonder. Part of the acrylic transfer was adding layer after layer of gel on our chosen image. We then let our image rest over night in water, this process allowed the inc on the image to transfer onto the gel. You then rub off all the paper and place it onto your canvas. On the canvas you put another layer of gel over your image this allows it to stick to the canvas. Make sure that there are not air bubbles underneath the image. Now you can continue the rest of your painting adding crazy mediums to allow your viewer to wonder.
The Constraints of this project are:
Original photography
Canvas
Paintbrushes
Acrylic Medium
Acrylic Paint
Xerox Prints
Foam Brushes
What Happens Next: Natalie is exploring through the forest, she is happy because she will soon be with her family. When she sees her family they will begin a nice hike up a mountain. They are excited for the challenge, escape from everyday life, and the beautiful scenery down below. Once she pushes through the thick trees and through some vines she sees her family waiting for her. What a happy day for Natalie, and off they went up the mountain. (Very cheesy, but this is the story I was going for when I created my art piece).
